WHAT WE MUST TELL THE NATIONS

We are to say among the nations that the Lord reigns (Psalm 96:10).

How are the nations to know that Jesus is Lord unless we tell them?

Our problem is we have ghettoised the Gospel. We say and sing that Jesus is Lord all the time – in church. The message of Christ’s Lordship was never meant to be contained within the four walls of church, literally or metaphorically.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
ROMANS 10:13‭-‬15 KJV

The simple message that Jesus is Lord is the Gospel. We see this when we track back Paul’s quotation of Isaiah 52:7 here.

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
ISAIAH 52:7 KJV

The good news of the Gospel that we preach is that our God reigns. In the New Covenant era that we live in we would say: “Jesus is Lord.”

Note that this message is carried “upon the mountains.” This is a metaphor for nations, kingdoms and empires. It means the power of states and domains.

The message of Christ’s Lordship is meant to be spread among the nations, particularly to the rulers of those nations (see Psalm 2).

The Great Commission passages in Matthew 28 and Mark 16 cover the spreading of the Kingdom message to individuals and nations.

Telling people, nations and rulers that Jesus is Lord is the vital message that is a mighty weapon of devastation to the kingdom of darkness. It will set the nations free from sin, death and oppression. It will bring the Kingdom of Heaven to our broken world.

There is no more urgent task than to say among the nations that Yahweh reigns, that His Son is Lord.

You get what you preach so preach it!

Also, the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Every time we testify that Jesus is Lord, we prophesy the manifestation of His Lordship.
