Becoming a Christian and having a relationship with Jesus is very simple.

It isn’t about being religious, having to go to church or following rules and regulations in order to be accepted by God.

It is just about one thing.

That thing is this: Declaring Jesus is Lord.

The Bible says in Romans 10:9 that: “If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

It is that simple. Declare Jesus is Lord and you will be saved. Put your doubts and fears and misgivings all to one side and simply declare that Jesus is Lord. Do it with sincerity and you will be saved. This means you will become part of the family of God and He will come and live in your heart.

“But I’ve done bad things,” you might say. That is the point, friend. You cannot save yourself and you need Someone to do it for you. That Someone is Jesus. He took your sins on the cross and because of that, God has forgiven you in Him and when you turn to Him, all record of those sins is wiped out.

“But I am not religious,” someone might reply. Excellent! Jesus didn’t come for religious people i.e. those who rely on their own efforts to get God’s approval. He came to save “a wretch like me” as the old hymn goes. Jesus came for broken people, messed-up people and sinning people. People who have failed God time and again. People who are depressed, distressed, broke, busted and disgusted. Losers and failures. And people who have been “winners” in life but are dissatisfied with all their achievements and wealth. Jesus came for YOU.

No matter what you have done or how low you are feeling, take it all to God and receive Jesus as God’s answer. Confess Jesus is Lord and you will be saved.

Pray this simple prayer if it helps:-

“Father, I come to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus. I repent of living my way and now choose to live as Your child. I confess Jesus is Lord and that You raised Him from the dead. I thank You that He died for my sins. Come and live in Me now, I ask You. I thank You that I am now in Your family. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

If you prayed this, you are now in the family of God!
